Frequently Asked questions --- OilLess / Self-lubricating /Graphite Embedded Bushes

Why are the bushes / Bush bearings termed as self-lubricating or OilLess ?
These bushes have graphite inserts plugged onto the walls of the bearings, which always provides the lubrication to the shaft while in motion. Hence these bushes can be fitted with initial lubrication and can work without regular lubrication.

What temperatures can these OilLess bushes withstand ?
OilLess LB#1000, OilLess LB#500, OilLess LB#2000 & OilLess LB#300 can withstand temperatures upto 80 deg. C , upto 250 deg. C, upto 400 deg. C, upto 400 deg. C respectively. Where as ordinary lubrication system fails above 75 Deg. C.

Under what service conditions can these graphite embedded bushes, bush-bearings work ?
These bushes can work and performs under severe conditions, dusty conditions, under salty water conditions, etc where ordinary bushes simply cannot work.

What is life of Self-Lubricating Bushes?
It is very difficult to say the exact life of the bush as it depends on many factors. It is normally expected that  the OilLess bearing shall last at least more than 4-5 times than the conventional bearings.

How does it compare the properties and functionality with respect to Sintered / Oilite / Super-Oilite Bushes ?
The Load carrying capacity and working Life of Graphite Embedded, OilLess bearings are much higher than that of Oilite / Sintered Bushes. The graphite embedded bushes can be replaced for Sintered / Oilite / Super-Oilite Bushes.

What are black dots in bushes contain?
Block Dots are the solid graphite inserts that provides lubrication to the shaft while in motion.

Machinability of graphite embedded bushes ?
All machining operations can be performed which are applicable to conventional bronze bearings.

Availability of graphite embedded bushes ?
We do not have any restriction of the sizes and quantities. Any size and quantity can be manufactured and supplied as per requirement. A minimum wall thickness of @3mm is required to these bush bearings.

What are the different range of graphite embedded bearings available ?
Four different grades namely OilLess LB#500, OilLess LB#2000, OilLess LB#1000 & OilLess LB#300.
However the Base material can be changed for each grade depending on the application requirement. Like high hardness, high corrosion resistance, etc, etc.
